What We’re Thankful For

Written by Channel Maven | November 23, 2020

Gratitude is defined by the quality of being thankful and the readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. And we could all use a little bit of that right now...

This year has been filled with ups and downs. That’s why we feel it’s more valuable than ever to highlight the positive and share what we’re thankful for. Let’s all focus on gratitude, appreciation, and joy this holiday season.

Here’s what our team is thankful for this year:

“I am thankful that this channel community has come together like never before this year. The virtual events, the authentic conversations, and the willingness to truly be there for each other has sometimes been the only bright spot in some very challenging days.”  - Heather K. Margolis, Founder & Chairperson

“I am thankful for our amazing clients and Channel Maven team, who deliver the best with the fullest esteem. I am thankful for my health, my family, and friends, and our new quality time via a ‘zoom lens’. And even during this stressful time, I am thankful I can still enjoy the beach, the sunshine, and my online orders of wine!”  - Jenn Reed, Chief Operating Officer

“I’m thankful for the abundance of yeast in the air that makes beautiful homemade sourdough bread and baked goods throughout the craziness."  - Brad Rolfe, VP Client Strategy

“As of this moment, I'm thankful that my son is almost finished with his college applications. Oh my, what a painful process it has been! Seriously though, I'm thankful my immediate and extended family is healthy and that our friends are happy to bundle up and still have outdoor hangouts together.”  - Lisa Deison, VP Finance and Administration

“I believe we can all agree there’s a lot to be gloomy about in 2020, but I am grateful for the precious gift of time. Time with family, pets, and horses has allowed me to focus on what’s important, keep me grounded, and re-energize my mind and spirit."  - Marilyn Rogers, VP Consulting and Digital Strategy

“I'm thankful for quality family time this year. So many things in my life have shifted (for the good) and as a result, it has brought clarity and a new perspective on how to overcome life challenges.”  - Akilah Murrell, Sr. Director Channel Marketing

“I’m grateful everyday for my loved ones near and far and that we’ve been able to laugh, “see” each other, offer support, virtually hug and face all challenges together. I’m also thankful to live so close to nature and able to spend time outdoors with friends (at a distance) in the fresh air.”  - Emily Supernavage, Sr. Director Channel Marketing

“I'm thankful for teachers and all of the people like teachers, nurses, doctors (and so many people in the community) who put themselves out there to take care of our kids and our sick and our community members who really need them.”  - Kari Owens, Channel Marketing Manager

“First and foremost I’m thankful for the health of my family, and for the ability to slow down, reprioritize, and focus on the things that are truly important in life.”  - Joanne Penn, Social Content Writer & Strategy Manager

“This year, I am thankful for new perspectives and priorities that surface during challenging times.”  - Noah Selzler, Marketing Manager

“I’m thankful for good doctors. In this uncertain time due to the pandemic, it’s good to know that we have competent doctors helping keep us healthy."  - Alex Rogers, Media Production Specialist

“This year, I am particularly grateful for nature, the outdoors, and this big, beautiful Earth we get to explore and call home. I am also thankful for my two crazy, adventurous chihuahuas, the incredible support of my family, friends, and partner, and my health.”  - Allie Wall, Sr. Analyst Social Content

“I am thankful for my faith, my family, and the opportunity to work with the Spark and CMC teams and their great clients.  I am also thankful, and remain hopeful, for this great nation we live in, and the freedoms we enjoy.”  - Chris Doyle, Global Account Executive

“I am thankful for technology that makes it possible to still feel somewhat connected to the things I love most: live music and visiting with friends. I am also thankful for the fact that the pandemic does not affect nature, and the seasons are still in full effect, offering respite from the uncertainty and a chance to still enjoy something beautiful.”  - Jennifer Clark, Channel Marketing Manager

"As the extension of so many successful channel and partner marketing programs and teams, I am thankful for the opportunity to connect and engage technology leaders across the globe. Thank you for being a part of my #CareerJourney 4.0!"  - Melissa Reffel, Writer & Content Strategy

“There's so many things I am thankful for but mainly the fact of breathing everyday and having all of my multiple senses healthy, they help me experience life and express what I feel for myself and for others. Also, very grateful for my family and loved ones who support me and make me grow everyday."  - Irene Perez, Executive Assistant
