The Channel has Movers, not Shakers

Written by Channel Maven | July 24, 2013

There are so many sites on the Internet that offer great channel related information. Websites like The Var Guy, Channel Marketer Report, Channelnomics and of course, Channel Maven Consulting to name a few. We wanted to make sure you also knew about MoveTheChannel.com as a budding resource. We sat down with Move The Channel’s own Travis Smith and Devin Ferreira to learn all about the website and how it came to be.

It all began when Travis wanted to stay connected with individuals he had met throughout the channel. Travis has always had a passion for the channel and as he continued to work in it, he met many people he wanted to stay connected to and have discussions with. What began as a private LinkedIn group he created in 2010, has now become a public group that currently has over 2,500 members. With more and more interest from people of the channel, the group has expanded and created its own website apart from LinkedIn. Move The Channel, offers communication and marketing strategies and a place to generally discuss the channel.  It is the perfect forum for individuals to ask questions or share information back and forth. Move The Channel has become a place that has a community feel for individuals in the channel to connect.

Travis is Regional VP at HMI Performance Incentives and takes what he’s heard his clients struggling with to build the content on www.Movethechannel.com. The website is an extension of the LinkedIn group and is meant to be a resource to get the channel moving and informed.

Visitors can access new trends and statistics, as well as best practices for channel professionals. We at Channel Maven think one of the primary benefits that Move The Channel offers is their performance incentives. Move The Channel is a prime place to learn more about incentives that work, or not, and deepen partnerships and even create new ones. The importance of these programs can help in extending your brand and increasing the knowledge of the channel through the basis of idea sharing.

Keep up the good work, Travis and Devin. Let’s get that channel moving.
