Infographics and The Channel: Grab Your Partners and Customers Attention

Written by Channel Maven | January 11, 2013

You’ve likely seen them popping up all over the web, but how can the channel use infographics? As a quick review Infographics are a creative, colorful, way to attract your target audience’s attention (as you can see from the example infographic form Channel Marketer Report above).  Once your infographic has them interested continue to effortlessly engage them by pictures, charts & text, educating your public more about the subject you are promoting.

People are continually inundated with information and infographics maintain their attention.

Vendors and partners alike can utilize Infographics occasionally as a part of their marketing mix. Infographics tend to be a tricky thing to execute correctly.  They have to be implemented in a simple, concise fashion that doesn’t work for every marketing situation. Most infographics  we found  were not helpful, but rather overwhelmingly busy and time consuming to go through. However, in the instances where you have a lot of information that you are able to streamline and consolidate (such as timelines, statistics, processes, etc.), or a situation that might require some feedback from your community, infographics may be the right tool. (Not to mention a fun and potentially interactive way to get your objective out to the public.)

Create a Successful Infographic

  1. Create a basic flowchart arrangement of the goals you’re defining for your market. Be sure your topic is current and relevant to your target audience and that you have credible facts.  There are may free infographic makers available online.
  2. Add color and eye-catching graphics. People are allured to pictures more than text.  You want your graphics to be strategic in telling your story by themselves or enticing the audience to read the written part of your feature. When deciding what colors to use, stay away from neutrals and neon colors; people are more attracted to bright primary colors and pastels.
  3. Insert your narrative. Give your information in an essay style layout, have a captivating title, and pull your audience in with a fascinating introduction and informative body. Conclude your infographic with an inspirational bang. Remember when you’re constructing your story it needs to stay straightforward, short, and succinct.

Víola! In a mere 3 steps you have composed an infographic people want to see.

How are you using infographics? Do you find them helpful or overwhelming?
