Here an Aggregator, There an Aggregator…

Written by Channel Maven | May 30, 2013

Using a social media aggregator can help save you time while maintaining various engaging social media platforms. Using an aggregator allows you to post valuable content using one website instead of having to log into every specific platform. You also have the ability to schedule content to go out in the future making posting less time consuming.  This makes your posts more consistent even if you don’t have time to push content, making light work of any social media marketing strategy.  To remove guesswork, we’ve looked into some of the more popular aggregators that users find helpful.

Hootsuite

Hootsuite is one of the most popular tools being used. It allows posting to more social media platforms than any of the others we’ve looked into. The platforms supported are: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Foursquare, WordPress, MySpace and Mixi. This lets you manage all of your social media streams from one website, business and personal alike. Hootsuite has a very easy to learn, straightforward layout. The free version has many benefits including analytics and the ability to upload .CSV files directly to Hootsuite to create multiple posts. For a fee, Hootsuite offers a premium version that allows for multiple accounts to be merged together. Everyone involved in online marketing can log into his or her account to help manage.

Buffer

Buffer has both a free and upgraded version you pay to use similar to Hootsuite. It allows the posting of content onto Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Buffer has tried to separate itself from other aggregation tools by providing users added benefits with a monthly purchase. Unless you purchase the premium version, Buffer only allows up to 10 posts to be drafted at a time. Arguably the best benefit from Buffer is its predetermined posting opportunity. With the creation of a patented algorithm, Buffer allows users to simply write a post and then determines the optimal time of day to post onto the social media platforms you choose. This not only saves time for the user, but also allows them to post content at the time of day in which people will view it most. Buffer also automatically shortens a URL to fit into a post while many of the other sites require you to shorten it.

Rebel Mouse

Another social media aggregator is Rebel Mouse. This site supports posting into Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. For companies with a large amount of images to post, Rebel Mouse is an excellent tool. A unique benefit of this application is its ability to be embedded into your personal blog or website. Rebel Mouse has you create a personal website page through their platform. You can add this website onto any personal social media you may have. With an easy to use layout, Rebel Mouse is gaining popularity.

There are many useful aggregator tools out there for you to leverage. Each one offers unique benefits and supports different platforms. Take a look at them and determine for yourself which will be most useful for you and your business needs. There are other social media aggregators to choose from to help simplify your social media marketing campaigns. Which one will you choose? Do you use a different aggregator that we didn’t mention? Let us know.
