Here a Twitter, There a Twitter, Everywhere a...

Written by Channel Maven | March 13, 2010

I just returned from Everything Channel's XChange Solution Provider 2010 in LA where I had the pleasure of speaking to Solution Providers and Vendors.  For those of you not familiar XSP brings together vendors with their top solution providers to network, train and hear about the year's initiatives.

At XSP10 I spoke to Solution Providers and Vendors about Using Social Media in the Channel.  I know there is a ton of information and as promised I've put a glossary for twitter below.  Thank you to those who attended for your feedback!

Twitter Glossary - find most terms on Twitter here and find others below

Public Timeline (noun):  The stream of Tweets from the people that you follow.

Tweeting (verb):  The act of adding an update to Twitter or another service such as Hootsuite, Cotweet, or Tweetdeck.

Re-Tweet (noun or verb):  Also denoted at 'RT' this is the act of copying someone's Tweet while giving them credit for it.  For instance, if UberGeekGirl tweets: Great time at XSP10! and I want to Re-Tweet that it would look like this:  RT @UberGeekGirl Great time at XSP10!

Mention (noun or verb):  When someone directs a Tweet to or about another person.  When you do this they see that you've mentioned them and all of your followers see their mention as well.  To do this you simply put the @ symbol in front of the person's twitter handle.

I hope this helps!  Don't hesitate to comment with any questions.
