Channel Maven Consulting

Channel Maven Consulting provides strategic channel consulting and marketing consulting to IT channel organizations of all sizes.

We are your strategic channel program and channel marketing partner. So what does that mean? We know not every channel marketing strategy fits every organization. That’s why we work with you to understand your current channel marketing programs, define your goals, and assess your resources. Then we pull from industry best practices and current innovations to help you drive more effective channel marketing “to” and “through” your partners. Along the way, our clients don’t just find their place on the map, they gain insights on their unique advantages.

Founded by Heather K. Margolis, a self-described “recovering channel executive,” Channel Maven Consulting benefits from Heather’s experience working in channel programs and channel marketing.

Carlton Bonilla, Senior Director Channel Strategy

As the high school band geek selling candy bars, Carlton found he had a knack for selling. But more than that, he realized he liked it more than he did practicing his instrument.  Over time, he came to understand the tremendous value effective marketing brings to a profitable sales campaign. Now, with over twenty years of marketing and sales experience in the tech and telecom space, Carlton brings an eagerness and enthusiasm to helping our clients grow their channel business. When not formulating successful growth strategies, Carlton can be found, or probably not found, exploring and camping in the most remote regions of the Rocky Mountain west with his intrepid daughter.

Jenn Reed, Director, Channel Consulting

Jenn joins Channel Maven as a recruit from one of Heather’s channel marketing workshops.  Always a channel marketing and partner marketing enthusiast Jenn was drawn to the ability to work with partners and vendors to better engage through traditional and social media.  Jenn’s IT and UC channel experience runs the gamut. From sales to product to marketing to channel marketing; for some of the largest communications manufacturers in the industry including Nortel, Panasonic and VTech.  With nearly 20 years under her belt Jenn completely “gets” the tech channel. With a no-nonsense approach (and a bit of a techno-geek); having worked in and across every functional area, Jenn’s gained the intuitive ability to roll-out successful marketing campaigns to drive sales while building long-term relationships with partners and end users alike. A New Yorker at heart, Jenn lives in paradise, a.k.a. Sarasota, FL, where she can usually be found on or near a boat when she’s not on or near her laptop.

Lisa Deison, VP of Operations

If a project needs to be managed or details need to be oriented Lisa is your woman. After starting her career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, Lisa now enjoys helping vendors better engage with partners and partners grow their businesses. Growing up an Army brat who was lucky to live in exotic locations such as Germany and Hawaii, Lisa has called Colorado home for 23 years. When not helping the channel achieve its goals, Lisa is a proud mother of 2 who loves to travel, cook, read, ski, hike and camp.

Content may be king but Jill is Channel Maven’s content Queen. We even gave her a crown. Jill is an innovative marketing professional with focus on increasing market penetration for all our clients and formerly Colorado non-profits. She considers the term ‘marketing geek’ a compliment. Jill loves fonts, proper spacing and is a stickler for the details.  After making sure that our client’s needs are met, you can find Jill volunteering at her local school, playing pickleball and most importantly sharing her enthusiasm for life with her family.  What is pickleball you may ask? We didn’t know either until we heard Jill have made the regional finals!

Steve copy

Steve Craft, Photo and Video Director

If you’ve been to our Social Media Rally Station or been onsite for a partner educational video you’ve met Steve.  Our go-to professional photographer/videographer doesn’t say much but how could he get a word in edgewise with all the mavens around? When Steve isn’t hanging with the Channel Mavens you can find him doing shooting for publications such as Forbes, Time, and Discovery, playing hockey (he is from Canada after all!) or with his beautiful wife Kelly in steamy Phoenix, AZ or in frigid Toronto, Canada.

Claire Feigal-Henry, Marketing Coordinator

Zoe, Chief Cuteness Officer

Zoe is adept at bringing the cute back into the channel.  Zoe reminds us all that all those hours of channel marketing strategy need to be broken up by the occasional walk or wrestle with a tug toy.  Not our best content creator she’s good at sniffing out the details and loves a good strategy session especially on the rare chance local clients might bring a four-legged friend with them.  Need to reach Zoe?  She’s not so great with email but feel free to swing by our offices whenever you’re in Boulder.
